Hello My Name Is...
<It is a great pleasure to share with you that this is my third year here at Rainbow Ridge Elementary School. For the pass three years I have had the privilege of teaching Kindergarten. I absolutely enjoy teaching children in this age group because they are like sponges, they soak up everything that I can teach them while we are having fun at it too. I am looking forward to another successful and exciting school year!
Please allow me to share a little bit about myself. I am Mexican American. Both of my parents immigrated to Riverside and Los Angeles, California when they were teenagers. My father is from Guadalajara, Jalisco, and my mother; who you might spot volunteering in my class once in a while, is from Nayarit, Itzlan. I am the oldest of six children. My favorite thing about my big family is that we are an even number. There are three brother and three sisters, so we always had a buddy we could count on. Since am the oldest of six am very comfortable with a lot of children in one room. My mother often tells the story of how she knew I was going to be a teacher. She said I would organize all my siblings and including visiting neighboring friends and play school. While I had everyone really doing their homework including myself. The truth is that I love learning. It was in my junior year in high school that I made the decision to apply to Liberal Arts Program so that I could become a Elementary Teacher. I graduated from Cal State San Bernardino in 2006 with my Bachelors in Liberal Arts and Letters and a Minor in Spanish Studies. It was in that same year I got hired by Val Verde Unified School District as an Instructional Aide for SDC and RSP. Being an aide allowed me to play apart in a classroom environment and students academic success. It was then that I knew that I truly wanted to be a teacher. In 2010 I received my Bilingual Cross-Cultural Language Acquisition Development (BCLAD) Multiple Subject Credential and my Masters of Education from the University of Riverside California. I am happily married to my high school best friend. Joseph Alan Martinez and I have been married for nine years and we absolutely love that our home has the view of the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains. >
